Phase II – Topic #1- Environment

For our first discussion of phase II, we’d like to hear your views on the emergency  environment:

– How do the Red Cross Red Crescent global tools fit into today’s emergency response environment?

-How compatible are these global tools with that of other actors?

– What are the key features of the “Emerging Operational Environment” to which the Movement must adapt?

Please leave a comment (click on “Leave a reply”) to contribute to the conversation!

We tend to stick to the movement and have limited collaboration outside – with Ebola we worked with MSF and looked what other health actors were doing. We do coordinate on the ground with other actors, e.g. in a refugee camp share shifts with other health units. for the EOE we have to be aware of stronger national governments and certainly more actors

for other organisations we have worked with WFP (through logistics cluster); many agencies don’t understand context; other NS come in and establish relationships with our own national institutions not realising we have existing relations.
