For our second discussion of phase II, we’d like to hear your views on decision-making and integration:

-What changes would you most want to see in how the Movement organises surge capacity and decisions are made?

– How can gender and diversity be better integrated in these tools?

-How can host NS be better integrated with these tools?

    We need more transparency in how decisions are made at the IFRC – from perspective of a NS deploying. There are also tensions between regions and HQ we see at IFRC in who takes decisions. Diversity we need to try to have more mixed teams (e.g. European and African) which we are doing now.
    HNS tend to be more and more capable to be involved, but context plays important role.

    PNS need to understand better context and work with the NS of the country much more. Requesting to Geneva is unclear and slow; takes over a week for a decision (long time for an emergency).
